Recently Lexus have really upped their game in the design and luxury department. The IS stunning, and they’ve added the spindle grille to their entire lineup.
So the LS 460, being the pinnacle of the Lexus fleet, is no exception and get’s the biggest spindle grill Lexus have ever put on a car.
Lexus claim over 3,000 new parts in the new LS 460, which when you consider all the tech they pack into the car is quite believable.
They’ve also taken the Luxury to the limit, for instance the interior has none of that pseudo wood finish. No sir, that won’t do. With the LS 460 you get a choice of real wood or bamboo inserts. It’s the real deal. Standard climate control isn’t good enough either, they now calculate temperature on 4 occupants in the car and adjust accordingly. Even the entertainment system got a kick in the pants, no longer are you limited to DVD’s you can load your Blu-Ray disks in the car, and play them on the rear screens. Best part, this is all standard, not the optional extras list.
How does it go? Quite well apparently, 285kW from a 4.6-litre V8 engine, which is probably less power than it’s rivals produce, but undoubtedly a smoother ride. I’d bet it’s the smoothest way to get from 0-100 in 5.7 seconds.
If you want one, you’ll have to pony up R1.2 million, and they’re available immediately from Lexus dealers in South Africa.
